It's pronounced "current"
One of the most common questions we get when talking to people about our Cider company is "what's with the name?". We thought we'd take a minute to explain the origin story. I'm (Joe Getz, co-founder) a graphic designer by day and cidery owner by night. Danish modern design is probably my favorite style and period of design whether it be furniture, print, or any other media. Kurant is a nod to Danish design. It doesn't directly translate to mean modern, or design, or anything really. It's just one of those things that popped into my head and stuck. It feels Danish, or Swedish, or any of those countries over there that have amazing design. The name is a translation of the company's drive to create modern inspired ciders and to remain "current" in the marketplace. Nobody knew what a Googolplex was until somebody was inspired to drop the "plex" and switch the rest to Google... We all have our origins, and so does Kurant.
